Hi all

I will start that I am newbie with CHDK and with this forum in particular , so please forgive for my mistakes :)

I installed the latest a2500-100a-1.3.0-3467-full_ALPHA.zip firmware and found issue with USB REMOTE

it looks like the camera take 2 pictures  instead of just one

I made the following scenario

Install the latest version of CHDK 1.3.0
In the CHDK Settings -> Remote Parameters menu, set Enable Remote to [ * ], Switch Type to [ OnePush ], Control Mode to [ Normal ], Enable Sync to [ * ],  Sync Delay 0.1ms to [ * ] [ 50000 ]
Exit the CHDK menus and then exit <ALT> mode.
Turn the camera off
Turn the camera back on
Put the camera into shooting mode (lens extended)
Plug your USB cable between your PC and camera.
Unplug your USB cable

Result

Camera take 2 picture (shoot twice), first immediately after  I connected to pc, and 5 sec after i disconnected it

I expected that the camera will take single picture 5 seconds after i disconnected .

I would appreciate your help

Is the camera in Canon continuous-shooting mode by any chance ?

I made reset to default , change the setting as previous & verify not in continuous but still it takes two images

Two additional things to try using the same test as you mentioned above.

  • Set the sync delay to 0 (or disable it). Rerun the test.  Does it still take two images?
  • Disable sync completely.  One or two images when you test again?

I'm trying to puzzle out having the wait_until_remote_button_is_released hook inserted in the wrong place in capt_seq.c could cause two pictures to be taken

something strange is happening here

1. Set the sync delay to 0 (or disable it), Result :immediately flash  when connecting the USB cable , immediately shoot when disconnecting

2. Disable sync completely , Result - immediately shoot disconnecting ( AS IT SHOULD)

why enable sync create immediately flash ? I am getting black screen after the first flash till i disconnect the USB cable

It looks like I made mistake previous- the camera doesn't  take 2 pictures , instead it shoot 2 flash (one immediately and one after disconnecting ) and one picture

The camera fires the weaker preflash and pauses the capture sequence until you release the USB switch.
It then fires the main flash.
This is completely normal.
