Test video recording with low quality (~5) and high quality (~70) and verify the results.

Video quality defaulted at 84. The quality read out does not appear in that case. I set it to both 5 and 70 as you asked and it showed up on the screen. I recorded movies at either setting. They were written to the card alright and can be played but they don't vary in terms of bitrate. They were:

13sec   26MiB @ quality 5
21sec   40.8MiB @ quality 70
Koshy had a little ELPH which wasn't white as snow but everywhere that Koshy went the ELPH was sure to go. (actually an SD, but that detail ruins the rhyme...)

I was expecting a higher difference in file sizes. Could you check if, during the test, Video Mode = [Quality] was selected?

You are right of course. My mistake. It was left at [Bitrate].

Re-iterated the test:

11sec   9MiB @ quality 70
08sec   3MiB @ quality 5

Both can be played.
Q5 is painful to look at due to artifacts but it holds up so I expect that to be what Q5 does.

Thanks. I think that with that we finished ixus860_sd870 tests.

Very good. I had put the note for it being fixed a little ahead of time.  :)

The three VxWorks cams seem won't fix candidates... What about IXUS 960?

This must be the "does he actually test this" version  ;)

- power button fails
- TV Override 00:01:31 fails
- DNG on half press: fails
- DNG on full press: fails
- videos can be shot but quality 5 and 70 produce same file size video. (Video mode was at "Quality")
- chdkptp can be connected, live view works, shot buttons make the camera take 2 shots but transfer fails:

WARNING: capture_get_data error chdkptp-r599-win32\lua\chdku.lua:1123: timed out
ERROR: chdkptp-r599-win32\lua\chdku.lua:1123: timed out

- USB remote: works

Thanks for testing. New ixus960 version:
- hooks did not work correctly, that explains all errors.
- power button hack was wrong.
Please test this version.

- power button hack was wrong.
That works now.

Everything else still gives the same errors as reported. Including chdkptp, long exp and DNG.
