I was expecting a higher difference in file sizes. Could you check if, during the test, Video Mode = [Quality] was selected?

You are right of course. My mistake. It was left at [Bitrate].

Re-iterated the test:

11sec   9MiB @ quality 70
08sec   3MiB @ quality 5

Both can be played.
Q5 is painful to look at due to artifacts but it holds up so I expect that to be what Q5 does.

The three VxWorks cams seem won't fix candidates... What about IXUS 960?

This must be the "does he actually test this" version  ;)

- power button fails
- TV Override 00:01:31 fails
- DNG on half press: fails
- DNG on full press: fails
- videos can be shot but quality 5 and 70 produce same file size video. (Video mode was at "Quality")
- chdkptp can be connected, live view works, shot buttons make the camera take 2 shots but transfer fails:

WARNING: capture_get_data error chdkptp-r599-win32\lua\chdku.lua:1123: timed out
ERROR: chdkptp-r599-win32\lua\chdku.lua:1123: timed out

- USB remote: works

Thanks for testing. New ixus960 version:
- hooks did not work correctly, that explains all errors.
- power button hack was wrong.
Please test this version.
