Is there any ongoing CHDK development for the A3500 camera? I am also curious, if I can use the A3400 CHDK (ver. 1b) for the A3500 because they have almost the same specs (except the touch screen). Thanks!

You cannot use CHDK from a different camera model. In fact, different firmware versions of the same model are usually not comparable.
