attempting to dump a SD900. this is my second attempt.
tried phono to photoresistor got no signal
trying serial cable connection with a software i cant remember at the current moment. but the signal is hit and miss.

im not really sure if im connecting the leads correctly. from what i read there is no color coding for the interior of a serial cable.

im thinking at this rate ill have it done in 2 years.

I recommend you use the AF-Led. It provides much more power and thus a better readout.

The receiver I used: http://img267.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0932bu4.jpg

Red and Black are Power supply
Yellow goes to the soundcard (signal)
Green went to the soundcard (GND) but was disconnected after I flipped the power supply.

I found out that the readout was much better when I put +5V on the black cable and GND on the red one.

I have begun working on dumping the firmware for the SD1000/Ixus70.  However, I am currently having a few issues:

I also started to dump the firmware of G9.
I receive signal form the unit using G7_blinker and AF LED.

load.exe works well. Received 1st and 2nd 2048kbytes.

BUT the file what I dumped seems to be corrupted somehow...

I try to solve this issue and get a correct dump soon.

Should have a dump of S5IS 1.01B Firmware later tonight.

Using the s5_blinker tommi2water made with modified offset.

I'm trying to dump the a530 firmware.

I'm having some problems.  My photoresistor gives a different signal from a photodiode, and the end of my dump seems to be mysteriously missing.  (I posted in 'General Discussion and Assistance' about it before I realized this subboard existed. *facepalm*)

I notice Cadbury is also trying to dump this firmware.

edit: I suceeded in dumping the firmware. :D (http://mrz.boldlygoingnowhere.org/a530_dump.dat)

Just found the AF LED for the SD870 at 0xC0223030 - about to start dumping. Since it's an IXUS camera, I assume I should I start dumping the firmware at 0xff810000....

UPDATE: firmware is dumped now... :)

howdy guys, just thought id give an update. after my last post i have been crazy busy at work and with finding a new job/updating my demo reel.

at any case. i may have some time soon again to take a whack at the firmware dump, only i sent my SD900 in for repairs
[ccd dust] so not sure when im going to get my hands back on it.

please if anyone else has a SD900 and is willing to try this, do not let me stop you. continue on, as i have no idea what im doing :)
