Hi,
I have a Canon PowerShot S5, and I would like to install CHDK on it. However according to the wiki, you have to do it using a card reader. Is there any way around this. I don't have a card reader :(
Email me at adz@jewc.org for questions/comments/etc or aim me at adzempire!

STOP!! Before thou smiteth me, please PM me the reason! . Criticism = bad, constructive criticism = good.

If you wanna applaud, no reason necessary, I know I'm wonderful :P

To be honest, I don't know if Card Tricks will work or not--but I think I read others have had good luck...

Card Tricks - a small utility to help manage SD cards

You should probably get a SD/SDHC card reader someday--going through the camera has been hit and miss for some functions (cameras were designed to download their image files, not for special formats, RAW images--for those cameras that did not have RAW, and sector writing needed operate CHDK).

Also, if you want to take a look at this readme.txt file (please ignore typos for now) I wrote for first time CHDK users running the A720IS (same exact procedures works for your S5 camera too), look here:

A720 limits:  submit what you know works or doesn't work.

Read me file is here (link says "login" for me--but it does download the README.TXT file--or follow the link above):

I think you should buy a cheap card reader. This you will require not only to load CHDK but also scripts, fonts, text files etc. You won't regret the expenditure.
