Video mode is reported as 14 when the video/photo/play switch is set to video
When I try to set mode 65550 with the lua script I get to mode 14, too...

Koshy had a little ELPH which wasn't white as snow but everywhere that Koshy went the ELPH was sure to go. (actually an SD, but that detail ruins the rhyme...)

I think I have tested all the items nafraf listet at: http://pastebin.com/SZHQp8pC So let me know what's next on this.
