Hi all,

I just installed CHDK using STICK onto an sd card and put it in my camera, but it didn't turn on. So I thought alright, I'll just take out the sd card and start it without it, nope. Well then it must have dead batteries, no no. All I  get is a blue light flashing from the print button-but I can't find any mention of what this means. Any ideas what I did wrong?

Assuming you used a picture from the camera in question, STICK installed the correct CHDK build to the card.
Did you lock the card prior to putting it back to camera?

AFAIK you can only start this camera with the playback button when CHDK is set to autoboot, the ON/OFF button will not react.

That means you tried to start the cam without a card? If so, does the blue LED blink without the card?

Do you get this with the card that has CHDK installed (and it's locked)? CHDK starts with flashing one or more LEDs (depending on camera), I think you should see one flash on this camera.

While I cannot comment on the A570 because I don't have one, the A560 suffers from various foibles and fits of sulking.

Pressing the power button often results in nothing at all happening. Removing the clock battery and refitting it solves the problem. The clock battery is probably located right by the AA batteries, under a grey plastic lid, it is about 8mm in diameter.

Removing the SD card and Pressing Power and ► at the same time also seems to do some sort of reset.

The AA batteries in my A560 need to be either almost new Alkalines, or fully charged NiMH otherwise the camera will quickly warn of a low battery. Even if the batteries work perfectly in other devices, the A560 still complains if they are not almost at full capacity.

Good points !

My A560 (bought used for about $20) looks like it has been through a small civil war but it does not exhibit your symptoms.  Have you seen the posts that pop up periodically about battery contact contamination and/or spring tension?
