simple question about display info and streaming

I hope to use this firmware hack with an SX260HS or something similar, in order to
STREAM RAW VIDEO out of the hdmi port of the camera
   (or the usb port)
with previous point and shoot cameras I've had the frustrating problem where I cannot turn off
the display information that is overlaid on top of the video while in camera mode
is it possible to turn this off with CHDK? if so, I'd love to use this and write some cool scripts for it
any camera recommendations would be wonderful as well! thanks :D

Most recent cameras cannot output video on the HDMI port while in shooting mode (edit: In fact, I don't know if any can.)

Some (but not all) can still output SD video using Canons adapter in the USB port. From the manual, it appears sx260 supports this.

The CHDK PTP extension (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/PTP_Extension) can also be used to stream video data, but this is relatively low quality and getting it into a normal video format may be tricky (some discussion can be found at http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6231.msg115402#msg115402).

CHDK cannot directly remove the Canon OSD display. It should be possible to repeatedly replace it with 'transparent' color, which would keep it mostly invisible but probably flicker some.

If you use the PTP extension, than you can choose whether you transfer the viewfinder view, the UI overlay or both.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
