PtpCamGui with no picture, ptpcam not visible!

Hi,  I've successfully installed CHDK to autoboot. On my Windows 7 laptop I've installed libusb-win32, and ptpCamGui runs and controls my SX30is but with no display on the computer.  Ptpcam.exe only flashes something on screen but nothing appears to be running, though Windows Task Manager says it's running.
What am I doing wrong?

Ptpcam.exe is a DOS-compatible program. It must be run from a cmd window.

PtpCamGui works fine on a Win7 machine. It seems to be a local problem. Stop all Ptpcam.exe instances in the task manager and try it again. Check your security settings. Try to start the program as administrator.

Maybe I'm chasing a red herring: does PtpCamGui even have a Live View of the camera view?

And Chdkptp works o.k.

PtpCamGui does not have live view. It's a simple GUI to demonstrate various functions. The most important functions are the picture download from the camera and a simple update of CHDK.

For extended tasks chdkptp is the better choice.

That explains it!

I thought I'd try PtpCamGui because it looked more polished than Chdkptp (e.g. zoom slider) but didn't spot that it's missing Live View.

Thanks for the help.
