SOLVED - Av settings in Manual

I read where aperture values can be set from 1 to 16.
Override setting is set to no
How is that done?
When in manual, there is only 2.8/8.

Would help if mentioned what camera you have?

But I'm guessing its one of the many Powershots that do not have a user adjustable aperture. What you see is the choice between having a Neutral Density filter in the light path or not having it there.

Note that the f-stop values displayed will changed with zoom position. The calculation of f-stop is a function of focal length as well as len opening diameter.

Thanks - that helps. The SX20 (of course) has a user adjustable aperture.

Were you not able to find or use the Override Aperture menu entry in the Enhanced Photo Operations menu ?

Thanking you for your help.
The histogram is in the way. Found it however.
So, once it is set to an F-stop, it stays put. It is no longer adjustable... right?

How would you bracket +/- 1/3 stops?
