I don't understand. Why are you trying the firmware update method? The simple quick and foolproof way to install CHDK on your cameras is to use STICK. The result is a card which when locked will boot CHDK and when unlocked makes your camera work just as it did when you first bought it. What can be simpler than that?

Do not try to follow the advice in old videos, just use STICK.

And please don't "try all versions". Only one will work - the one that matches the firmware in your camera (and that STICK will install).

Charles

please try to do what I suggested. Don't just use STICK to download the build, use it to prepare a card and install CHDK. Once you have done that you don't need to do a firmware update or do any file copying. Just lock the card (with the little slider) and insert it in the camera.

Please note - you must use STICK to prepare the card - it has to be made bootable.

If you continue to use the firmware update method and copy files yourself, you will continue to have problems.
