CHDKPTP on RaspberryPi - How to install?

I just new to Linux and Raspberry Pi (B+, raspbian) and have some problems getting CHDKPTP (incl. gui) installed.

* I downloaded chdkptp-r330-raspbian-gui.zip. Right one? Or r650, r599 ...?
* unzipped to /home/pi/CHDKPTP/
* saved "chdkptp.sh to /bin
with CHDKPTP_DIR=/home/pi/CHDKPTP
* restarted
* tried to run chdkptp from desktop and from terminal, nothing happened
* installed all the libs mentioned in the readme-libs.txt and tried to run again - nothing

Where is my mistake?

Nothing? You typed chdkptp at the command line, pressed enter, and the command prompt came back with no other message or information or warnings?

What about if you type chdkptp -i ?

You should probably use the most recent version (highest version number, r650), along with chdkptp-raspbian-libs-20140331.zip if you want to use the GUI.

I think the old one got bumped up to the top of the list when I edited a tag or something.

As waterwingz says, it would be helpful if you can clarify what you mean by "nothing". Note that you should run chdkptp.sh, not the "chdkptp" binary.

Thanks for your quick replay!
Using the two new zip-Files it works.

And I learned a lot, when encountering the "Bash: Command not found" error. Commands are only executed, when in a directory included in PATH variable, e.g. "/bin"

Or when you specify the path explicitly as part of the command. e.g. /bin/chdkptp
