The problem with that thread seems to be the title. If you remove the () from in replies you can reply. Suspect this is triggering some IPS rule on the host, maybe shellshock?

I hadn't seen this one before, but I could only replicate it if cmd is the last string (empty spaces ignored) before the closing 'code' tag. Adding something after, like a commented out string circumvents the issue.

Is this the behavior you experienced?

Yeah, that seems to be it. I was originally trying to post something more complicated and didn't narrow it down beyond containing the cmd.

Another one, I get a 404 forbidden if I post the following without spaces

shell : run

It's pretty frustrating to lose a long post this way and then have to test line by line figure out what pattern is triggering the filter  >:(

It's not really much of an answer,  but I've been able to use my browser's "back button" to get my post text back when stuff like this happens.

Sometimes that works, but it didn't in this case.

The same for me with an open link and an executable file. Hide the link works.

It seems, the forum software reacts to certain words.

Hi,

This is server related, due to mod_security being enabled. I can't say if I will actually make it work in somewhat nicer way, but I'll have a look with the host support.

Sorry about the inconvenience though.

Cheers!
