Hello there, I have just registered my account here. I am wondering if there any chance for CHDK release for canon powershot sx170is any time soon ? I have seen that there is certan work in progress about that matter, but as far as I understood there is no solution yet. Thank you in advance :)

link> CHDK FAQ : My camera isn't ported yet

However, there is code for a CHDK 1.3.0 port of the sx170is in the svn site.  It's just not released to the autobuild for general distribution.  I assume that has something to do with a lack of testing.   If you have an sx170 with either firmware version 1.00a or 1.01a then it would be possible to post a test version for you.

Forgive me for slow reply, & about my poor english . As you can see it is not my native language. About the firmware - I was able only to check the version of my camera firmware by a program called ' Jeffrey's Exif viewer ' which can among all the data , show me my camerara firmware version . And the thing is it shows that the version is  ' Firmware   1.01 ' ( without letter ' a ' at the end ). Perhaps you cold give me some suggestion about how can I check the firmware of my camera more accurately. Also , I would be more than pleased to conduct some tests. Thanx !

Thank you for the link that you've provided. According to 'ACID' software my camera firmware is '' 101a ''. Therefore, like I have said - I would be more than pleased to test CHDK test version for my camera if you can provide me with one. Thank you !

I'm travelling this week and don't have access to my build machine. Perhaps someone else will build and post a current version for you.  Otherwise I will do so on Dec 30th.

I've posted a build in the development thread: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=11164.msg119369#msg119369

You should give any feedback there. I'm not sure what the state of this port is, but my impression from the thread is that it is quite incomplete, and the notes.txt says raw does not work. You should read the thread.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I've downloaded the port too. I've tested several things so far:

- long shutter speeds work (tested 20, 30, 60 seconds)
- all temperatures are shown (can't tell if they're accurate)
- RAW doesn't work (didn't actually test it, it's a known issue)
- HDR.bas script takes the first image, then camera freezes (didn't test other scripts)
- a minor color corruption of the original Canon menu tabs (same goes for CHDK splash screen)
- minor features work (file browser, calendar, etc.)

So if I understood well, RAW doesn't work in that build ? Is there any way to make RAW work cause it's the most needed option for most users I suppose ?
