Originally hoped to archive my photos on SD Cards but recently when I did a search Best SD Cards for Archival read they have a problem with "charge leakage".

Ideally the microSD would be my choice since I can use it in both my cell phone and camera but am now wondering if the microSD has greater "charge leakage"?

Now wonder if "charge leakage" is related to "Life Expectancy of the Card?

Am posting this because I am as "Non Technical" as you can get and have not found any good answers to these questions on the Internet.

Have been looking for a Forum discussing these questions.

Appreciate any suggestions, links, papers....

There is a lot of conflicting information about this when you start searching.   The most populare article seems to be this one.:

It  finishes by saying "Of course, we know the charge will decay over a long period, so SD cards are not recommended for archival storage. "

3) Corruption is common and varies greatly with the quality of the card and of the reader. I have noticed this from personal experience. Cheap, low quality readers and cards just corrupt the data. I suppose this is why they say to format the card often. The corruption may also be from charge decay of filesystem structures. (see #1).
