Hi guys, I am a total nube but I was wondering is it possible to install any version other than 1.03 for my Canon SX10is. Could I maybe upgrade to stable 1.3? If not could you share some guide how to make capturing of raw files faster. Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you might be mixing up CHDK versions and Canon firmware versions. The current stable CHDK is 1.3, and AFAIK we never released a build called 1.03. If you install CHDK following the instructions on the wiki, you'll get 1.3.

You cannot update the canon firmware unless canon releases an update.

Aside from getting a faster SD card, there isn't really anything to change. If you are actually using a really old version of CHDK (before 1.2) then upgrading will give you somewhat faster DNG saving.

If you are indeed a total nubie,  you probably want to take a look at this information :  CHDK Wiki : Prepare your SD card

The STICK Utility mentioned at the top of that page is particularly recommended.

Maybe STICK needs some updates with latest branches.
ACID seems to work fine so far.

Although the STICK main window refers to the stable branch as 1.2 and the development branch as 1.3, if you choose stable you will get the current stable build which is actually 1.3 (there is no 1.2 build any more).

I will update STICK so the main window says 1.3 rather than 1.2, but it will be a purely cosmetic change - the code underneath does the right thing.

Thanks for the STICK update Dave.
Few months ago, when i started using CHDK, STICK was the pass key.
That day I would have been mixed up by choosing 1,3 for sure. :)
