Hello.
My camera is a Canon PowerShot SX50, and I am using CHDK 1.3.

I took some photos and I have some files named CRW_xxxx.CR2 (where "x" is a number), and they have all 18.3MiB size. I can not open them with any program, I tried with RawTherapee, darktable, Adobe DNG converter and dng4ps2. I read in the forum that CRW files It's just a dump of the sensor data, but I do not understand what that is.
For my mistake I lost some pictures of that session on that day, and would be very important for me can open and recover these files. Are these files contain my photos?

It means the file only contains the image data, nothing to tell a program what the width and height are, or how many bits it is, or anything about the color calibration or exposure. It's just the pixels from the sensor and nothing else.

You can probably create a profile in DNG4PS2 for it. See this post http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6754.0

The values from the SX40 should be be close http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/SX40#DNG4PS-2_Settings

According to the CHDK source, the sensor height for sx50 should 3062 (not 3060 as in the sx40)

In the future, I would highly recommend you use Canon raw or CHDK DNG.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

It worked, thank you very much!

I selected the G7 camera, renamed to Canon PowerShot SX50 HS and I put the SX40 values (with the value 3062 in sensor height) in the "Camera Options" tab. Then I also chose "4176x3062" in "Camera Model" tab.
