Thanks, a big help. You'll see I was involved in that earlier discussion. A volunteer who didn't own the camera kindly tried to work on version 1.2 code that was then in Beta, and we had some testing exchanges, but it was too awkward and he gave up.
Hi, Thanks. I was back and forth over a week with a guy who is a competent coder, which I'm not. The problem seems to be the unusual wide LCD screen and icon configuration. On CHDK 1.1 I noticed the Zebra, Grid Patterns, and ND filter didn't work. CHDK 1.2 fixed the ND filter but lost the Histogram, which is why I want to revert to 1.1.So, on current versions of CHDK a camera that defaults to f/2.0 and easily blows out whites doesn't support either Zebra or the live Histogram. To me it's unfinished. It's a rare camera (though a goodie) and I don't expect further work on it - even so when I go to the Ixus300 page on the Wiki it clearly says it's Beta. I can see the difference between being "unfinished" and being "beta" which suggests somebody is still working on it.
I have to respectfully decline - I went through over a week of back and forth running the various test scripts with the helpful guy who tried hard and gave up a couple of years ago.
