CHDK PTP multiple instances - working with USB Remote concurrently: Status Quo?

CHDK PTP multiple instances - working with USB Remote concurrently: Status Quo?

I am planning to remote control about 10 cams (A480 / A800) using the CHDK USB feature.
Additionally I want to use CHDK-PTP to access the cameras via USB.

In an old and unfortunally locked thread CHDK PTP multiple instances - working with USB Remote concurrently (kbd.c hack)
 you mentioned to modify the kbd.c file an build the CHDK.
Is this the only way or is there (one year later) a ready CHDK version with this feature?

Couldn't find the answer anywhere in the long 19 pages of the thread  :(

http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Lua/PTP_Scripting#usb_force_active is now in the core code. See this thread http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=11779.30

This is not currently supported on your cameras, but should be trivial to add if you are willing to test.

Which canon firmware version(s) of A800 do you have, and would you prefer a 1.3 or 1.4 test build?

After making a right USB-cable with switch I'm now trying to get all steps done in the right order according to

My next tasks are to start the script via CHDKPTP GUI and poke the menu values. Where can I get the address and the value?

"Poke" in this case means use set_config_value to set the appropriate conf entries. The remote conf id's are in CHDK/LUALIB/GEN/cnf_core.lua

edit:
To get the correct values, you can set up the settings you would use normally in the CHDK menu, and then use get_config_value() to see what numbers they correspond to.

Hi I'm tying todo exactly the same as Peter but with 64xIXUS160 (remote usb+ptp) , I have installed ixus160_elph160-100a-1.4.1-4319-full , can you let me know if usb_force_active feature is implemented in this version of chdk? thx alot for your help !!!

Yes, since CHDK 1.4, it's supported on almost all CHDK ports.
