I just took a look at the FAQ which stated that it's not possibly to update via the PRIMARY.BIN from a dump and i'm probably stuck with 1.00

How did you determine you have 1.00a?

In any case, your camera is not ported yet. But if you can dump your firmware ( see above) then it might get done if someone comes forward to do the port.

I first posted the 1.00A firmware and started this thread more than a year ago xD

I put the ver.req and/or vers.req (cant remember which one..) on the SD-card,
then in display mode I press and hold func/set and after a sec i'll press disp and it shows me "Firmware Ver GM1.00A (1.0.0.0)"

And yeah I know there is no CHDK yet, i've tried looking into disassembling it, but I didn't get very far

My question was about updating from my 1.00 to 1.01 via the dump which was provided a couple weeks ago, which I now know is not possible.

SX710 firmware 101a is now supported in the trunk autobuild, and a test version for 100a is available in the porting thread https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=13312.0
