FWIW, I'm fine with people posting builds publicly here, if they reference the camera damage posts. If you want to keep using PMs that's OK too.
Ideally, I'd like to see this port enabled in autobuild.
The other reason I'm using PMs is that my build includes the .fi2 file (which might spare me writing installation instructions for those who'd like to "update" their firmware). I have not received failure reports so far.

Is the risk of an autobuild version too high?

If I am correctly informed, originated the damage with a partitioned SD card. But this is not the standard procedure for Ixus160.

Per this post I think it's safe to say we don't know what caused one camera to "brick" and another to lock up but not brick.  And we most probably never will.

So does it get added to that autobuild until a new user reports a bricked camera  (which may or may not be actually caused by this particular bug) ?
