Did you try making that request?
No, as the IXUS160 is not supported,
To debug this,  it would be quite useful to see how it's used with other cameras.  Complete SDM source code would allow us to do that.
Ported :   A1200    SD940   G10    Powershot N    G16

OK, I will request it.

Well, that was easy enough.

The SDM developers asked me to contact them on sdm_support AT btinternet DOT com.

I also noticed that in the User Manual provided with the ASSIST download, they say :-

"SDM is only possible because of the work done by CHDK developers, those who 'port' cameras to
CHDK, the developers of MagicLantern, members of the CHDK Forum and those who test SDM.
Many contributors use 'Internet id's' rather than their real names, the main contributions relevant to SDM
are :-

EWAVR/Damir Vrancic - using usb switch for synchronised shooting
vnd - precision synchronisation for more recent cameras
MagicLantern/srsa_4c/funnel - information that indirectly led to video sync 'solution'.
Friendly CHDK developers philmoz,srsa_4c and reyalp have provided invaluable advice."

small mistake - to get the source code for SDM you need to write the email to:
sdm_source_code AT btinternet DOT com

I have enabled this port in the 1.5 and 1.4 autobuilds, currently listed as ALPHA.

The hardware damage issue hasn't been conclusively resolved, but a lot of people have been using this port without any new incidents.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Great news!

Not a directly CHDK related question, anyway : I get RAW file with my IXUS160 thanks to CHDK, but I can't find the correct lens correction profile in Lightroom. Somenone's got a solution to this ?

I get RAW file with my IXUS160 thanks to CHDK, but I can't find the correct lens correction profile in Lightroom.
Lightroom only includes lens correction profiles for cameras with native RAW function. But you can create a profile with an Adobe tool: Adobe Lens Profile Creator. As an alternative to lightroom you can use RawTherapee. This program has manual adjustment possibilities for the lens correction.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this port possible! As expected, the quality of my photos have increased exponentially! I'm not sure that I can accurately express my gratitude!

For convenience, here is a Camera Raw Lens Profile, and ColorChecker DNG Profile for the ELPH 160.

NOTE: The Lens profile does not exactly match the corrections made in-camera. The ColorChecker Profile was made by taking a photo of the image in the above Google Drive folder on a Samsung Galaxy S5 in Cinema mode at full brightness in complete darkness. It was then processed in Adobe DNG Profile Editor. This isn't a perfect solution, but it's exceedingly better than no corrections at all.

Booting up the camera with USB inserted gives the following ROMLOG (fw 100a):

Nice. Does it make any difference if you enable (or disable) USB remote in the CHDK menu?
