New Forum functionality: tag bubbles with search functionality

New Forum functionality: tag bubbles with search functionality

Hi,

Like the "new" info bubbles that are present in the forum, you can now add tags to a thread's subject that will be enclosed in color filled bubbles of their own.

Clicking on each of these bubbles will activate the search function for that tag.

Note that the bubbles will not appear of the threaded messages, only on forum indexes, search results, and on the breadcrumb header of any post. 

EDIT: Try not to use special chars or white space in the tags - search will not work properly with those.

Nice.

Except the new features (or something else changed since Tuesday) totally break the web browser on my three year old smart phone.

No more checking the CHDK forum during coffee breaks and lunch hours I guess.

The new gimmick is nice, but not of interest for me. (Because of the red font is it difficult to read.)

I miss the portal of the forum with the most recent topics.

These are the recent posts and not the recent topics! That's not the same. On the old portal there was an overview of the ten most current topics. That was very helpful.

I see it now too.  On the old forum the "home" tab and the "forum" tab were different.

Hi,

 Thanks for the feedback.

The portal is temporarily disabled but this is not related to this new "bubble tags" feature and hopefully I will be able to put it back up in the next few days.

There is an issue with direct smartphone access (which I'm trying to improve) that in fact is related to the missing portal. Hopefully, it will all be compatible.

In the meantime, Tapatalk remains a good option for browsing the forum on your smartphone.
