Hello and here is my firmware?

Just wanted to say hello as I'm new to not only this forum but to the world of cameras. I always used my phone until today. I have a canon powershot elph 350 HS and it happens to either not be under dev here or not wanted :( I'm hoping it's the first. I followed the steps and dumped my firmware but now what's the next step. Does someone want the firmware to the above camera to port it? I don't mind uploading it. I tried searching for the camera so if i missed it please post the link below. Well look forward to seeing what we can do :)

Hello and welcome.

It usually take a while before recently released cameras are ported to CHDK.  Sometimes it never happens.  It all depends on somebody with the skills and time deciding to do the port.  Usually that also means they own or have access to the camera.

You probably need to take a look at this first :

link> CHDK FAQ : My camera isn't ported yet

Where it goes after that is a question of your interest, skill set, time, and programming ability.

As far as the firmware dump goes,  please post a link here to a download site where it can be accessed.  box.com is a good choice if you don't have another preference.

The Canon PowerShot Elph 350 HS, is called the Ixus 275 in the UK and Australia.
If you can post a link to your dumped  firmware for the Elph 350 HS (Ixus 275),
I can do a part of the Porting process.

H-H

This cam seems to have a record amount of RAM (512MB)...

It's a nice little camera. 20.1 Megapixels and does 1080 video. I am using this for my main camera for youtube and hope I can increase the quality, maybe the frame rate. As far as lacking features I love the remote app where I can use my cell to run the camera but it doesn't allow me to remotely take video. That is the main reason I started looking into this firmware. I was hoping I could maybe have a menu option to switch between remote camera and remote video.

Faster or better quality video is something that Canon would no doubt enable if the camera was capable of it.  It's a very competitive marketplace out there so it seems unlikely they would purposely cripple one of their cameras.   And  CHDK can't make the camera do something the hardware is not capable of either, unfortunately.

As far as remote camera control from your phone,  that's something completely new and AFAIK not offered on any other existing cameras.  It's certainly not something CHDK supports in any case.  Although it would be an interesting hack to try and enable that, it will take someone with a lot of time and skill and desire to implement something like that.

That makes sense. I haven't played with it too much so I'm not sure if it's native but I was hoping to record 1080 at 60fps. I know with android phones you can almost always increase the frame rate and quality with custom patches. I'm still new to all of this so I'm not getting my hopes up lol but it would be interesting.

Hi there. Is there a status update on how far we've gotten porting the Elph 350?
