What file got corrupted? The original download link it's still available in this thread AFAIK.  Can't you just download it again?

Thank you....

I'm confused.  The script file you posted is that same as my original script posted earlier in this thread.

Either script will do the following :
  • ae lock
  • five second delay after shutter is activated
  • set display off after 5 shots
  • 2 second interval between shots
  • change zoom “on the fly”

The only thing is won't do is :

  • disable flash

I don't think there is anything wrong with the script.  So I'm guessing you are maybe having problems loading or running the script?

Or am I missing something else here?

The display doesn't shut off which seriously limits the battery life.

The display power does not actually make a really big difference in battery life if you are shooting every two seconds.  Here's some actual testing that shows this : Battery Intervalometer

I'll take a look later today anyway at the script.

Meanwhile, did you remember to turn off shot review mode in the Canon menu?

edit : added link to battery script thread

I've now tested the script and can confirm that the display does in fact turn off.  So there is something else wrong in your camera's setup - most likely that you have image review mode turned on in the camera menu.   Does everything else work correctly while using the script?

I've attached an updated version of the script that also forces the flash to stay off, as requested.

Note : this script will only turn off the display for cameras with an optical view finder - like your A720IS.

I tested it this morning and it works PERFECT! Just what I wanted  :D

We have a storm coming in today so I tested it looking out a sliding glass door in our patio.

Thank you again for your time and help. It's much appreciated.  :)

I just picked-up a SX530HS (love it) and successfully loaded CHDK (via STICK).

I would like to utilize the same properties in the ae_lock4.lua you so graciously provided for the A720IS.

So, my question is: will this script work in my new SX530HS? If not, could you generate one that will?

Thanks...Dan

No.  For the reason that I stated.
