If you are using it with your new camera (i.e. not your A720) then you need to go into the script menu and change the Display Off Mode to  [ LCD ].

I'll look into "goof proofing" the script when I get a few free moments.  But that should do it for you.

Edit : goof proofed script attached.  If you set the Display Off Mode wrong, it simply will not shut off.  But the script no longer hangs.
