Recording in multiple compression formats

I am searching for a feature where it is possible to select different compression such as .mov(H.264) and .avi(motion jpeg). Is this possible with the current firmware? Or does the firmware always record in .avi(motion jpeg)? Even when the initial compression used by the camera is .mov?

Neither the encoding or container format can be changed.

Please do not cross post the same question to multiple threads. The people here who answer questions follow all threads and get annoyed at the confusion that can cause. Thank you.

Thanks for the response. Sorry for the cross post, I posted the first one in the wrong section. I posted the second one and tried to remove the first one but couldn't find the delete button . Will not happen again, my apologies.
