This is hardware rather than software related, but with the SX130IS, and possibly other cameras that use the AVC DC400 cable, Pin 6 is definately video out enable. I built a switch between Pin 6 and ground, and when pin 6 is grounded, camera display is output via the cable. If Pin 6 is open, the camera display stays on the LCD.
I was hoping for simultaneous output (like PhyrePhox was), but that was not the case.
I'm still trying though.
