Intervalometer Setting on SX260

I'm running the INTErVAL.LAU script, works well but when I set the interval to 0 or 1 second it still takes about four seconds between shot.  I'd like it to shoot every 2 seconds, i've searched other parameters to se if there are any delays set in for any reason but can't find any.

How do I get this to fire a shot every two seconds?

Thanks

Most Canon P&S cameras will shoot at about 2 seconds per shot maximum.  However, if you have enabled CHDK RAW or DNG, that extends to about 3.5 or more seconds.

Disable saving RAW / DNG in CHDK is a good place to start.  A better script that locks focus and exposure can help a lot as well.  Something like Fast Shot Intervalometer for example.

Thanks.

How do I install that script into CHDK?

Just out of curiosity are there other cool scripts available like this and where can I find them?

Copy the script in script folder of CHDK CHDK/SCRIPTS and load it via CHDK script menu. Read also this site for more informations: => http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Scripts

There are many user written scripts.

I couldn't get it to work.

I'm on a Mac, I copy and pasted the entire script into Text edit formatted document (not rtf) saved it in the SCRIPTS folder and got the following error message:

:9: unexpected symbol near 'char(194)'

The script file must be a plain text file, encoded as UTF-8.

Rather than use TextEdit (which is not designed for editing programs and scripts) I suggest you download TextWrangler (it's free) which is a much better OSX tool for editing scripts and programs (for example it has syntax colouring for languages like lua, basic, c and java).
