SX200IS New Install not working - Help Please

I have a SX200IS and I installed CHDK using STICK.  I write protected the SD card reloaded in the camera and got an error message Modules Missing.  I formatted and repeated the operation a couple of times but the result was the same.  I then downloaded a zip of CHDK and compared with the SD card, there were many files missing from the SD so I copied those across.  The camera now starts up and I can get to the new menus, and if I press the print button I see Default Script  <ALT> at the bottom and a menu pops up, if I press DISP it selects save RAW, which was my main reason for installing this.

When I try to take a picture I get
*** STARTED ***
;)
*** FINISHED ***
on the screen (just text, the winking face is not there!) but it does not take a picture.  If I press the print button it turns the menu off and the camera operates as normal, but only takes jpegs again.

Has something gone wrong with the installation or am I missing something?  I have searched the posts here and checked in the manual but cannot find the answer.

Thanks
Mick

This is pretty much how it is supposed to work: You use "alt" mode to set CHDK settings, and use normal canon mode to shoot pictures. Pressing the shutter button in alt mode starts whatever script you had selected.

However, it should save raw if you have raw enabled. How are you checking for whether raw is being saved? You will probably have to look at the SD card rather than plugging in the USB card. You should also notice that shooting raw takes quite a bit longer. Raw may be disabled in some shooting modes. In this case, there should be a red notice in the CHDK UI.

If  your card has multiple partitions (required to auto start from a card larger than 4GB) you will need to make sure the large partition is active before inserting the card.

The problem you had with modules might also be related to an incorrectly set up multi-partition card. Make sure that your camera shows the expected amount of free space.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

@micksulley
I think the pop-up "help" screen may have caused some confusion. It will pop up in a few seconds when ALT mode is entered. To actually reach the CHDK menu, you need to press the MENU button too.
I'd recommend reading http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_1.3.0_User_Manual , especially the section about ALT mode.

Many thanks for your help, yes it is taking RAW.  I had plugged it in via USB and tried to import into DigiKam and also looked on file browser, but following your comment I put the card into a reader and yes the RAW shots are there.

Now to explore the features, there seem to be many more than expected :)
