What can I do to fix or investigate?

I would investigate the sleep line in the log after each run like in my plot.
Well, I saw this only on one of my SD cards. I don’t use this card for timelapse anymore…
See here my investigation:

Tested with 0.21, worked OK!
Exposure went up to 17 seconds.
Thanks for fixing the issue!

In another run I lowered the overexposure fraction.
Now the exposure went to 20 seconds.  :)
So I guess all is set for a night timelapse outside somewhere.
