Hello ,

I wanted share an interesting that I came up with . I have sucessfully installed the CHDK to my SX170IS cameras but I have four cameras whoose serial number are starting with 6 (others start with

. I can t install chdk to these cameras because there is no option to update firmware in camera settings menu. I have used EOSCard method to make SD card bootable but this time camera does not start.

Do anyone else faced this problem before and have any solution ?

Sound like you have different firmware versions. If you used STICK to install CHDK it would manage this for you.

EDIT : you can check the firmware version with ACID. If you can't download / run that for some reason, please upload an original picture from one of the camera's that won't boot to a file sharing site (box.com?) and post a link here so that we can check it for you.
