@paolo
Are the problems you mention above new in the latest version? I.e. Did you use CHDK before with an earlier version on your SX60 without problems?  Thanks.

@ 62ndidiot

Hello thank you for the answer:
actually i'm using one your old version via update camera firmware:1.5.0-4685.
I put it on a 128GB Sandisk Extreme III SD card.
CHDK is working for my purpose:i not need all features because i use a intervallometer script for bracketing to take panoramic photo with a Manfrotto head that i modified for increase the reading resolution of horizontal movement.
With CHDK i use also the value of zoom (mm) to calculate the right degrees shift from one bracketing shot and the next (it would be nice that the calculations is done by a CHDK script but i am not a programmer....).
I tested Your latest 100f version (1.5.0-4786) but CHDK is loaded unfortunately i can not access to some sub menu (they are correctly visualized).
Ok i know that the option to load CHDK via camera update is not the best solution but for me was usefull because i load CHDK when i real need.I don't know what is change from the old release and the new but eventually i can use CHDK with the other option you've suggested yesterday (make SD card bootable and after move the card lock to locked).

Thank a lot for your help
Best regards
Paolo

Can you show some photos or a video of the anomaly?

FWIW, I believe using "firmware update" loading can make the menu flash badly, because of the orientation sensor issue https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=12532.msg129248#msg129248

Don't forget what the H stands for.

Hello to all

@ 62ndidiot

In menu "Show build info" i found 1.5.0-4713 instead version 4786 as in the file description.

@ srsa_4c

For the photos i think to post them tomorrow.
The sub menu affected for the moment are "Language...", "Menu RBF Font...", Load Script from file..."
Strange they are the few sub-menus with three dot at the end.

Best regards and sorry for my bad english

Paolo

I know what the problem is now, don't need the photos any more.

You have a mismatch between your CHDK modules (files in the CHDK/MODULES folder) and the CHDK core.

When upgrading to the latest release, please extract the whole archive to the card, including the CHDK folder and its content.

I agree with @srsa_4c's analysis.  You have some old files that didn't get overwritten.  I tested on my camera, the items you mentioned above,  and all were fine.
Just make sure you unzip the complete distribution and replace all duplicate files :)

Hello to all,
sorry maybe i explained myself wrong,or my camera has some problems.
When i install new chdk versions always i format the SD memory card and after unzipped the file of the new chdk version inside.
The problems to which i refer concerns only when i install CHDK via update firmware present on Canon camera menu option.
Tested the last release (4786) on two different SD card (32GB and 128GB).
For both SD when i install CHDK via update camera firmware i have the problems above described.
With the old release i not have these problem so i think there are something wrong with the last version (i noticed different GCC Compiler). The last and the new version are ok if i install them with the procedure to make SD card bootable and after move the micro switch to locked.

B.R.
Paolo

I'll do some more checking on my camera, using the firmware update method.  I haven't changed the version of Gcc I use.  It's possible I didn't recompile the firmware update part completely, although I don't know why that would give the kind of problems you observe.
