Custom White Balance for Canon Powershot N

Hi,

I need to do a custom white balance for my photos. Previously, I could do a custom white balance using the SX260 with the normal camera settings and then I could just use the CHDK to start the interval script to take photos.

Unfortunately, the canon powershot n does not have a custom white balance option anymore. So, now I am trying to set a custom white balance through scripting, as well.

I've played around with the properties and on the N the white balancing is property 271, using values 0-8. It seems like the properties are the same as the Digic IV propset3 + 1 (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/PropertyCase). Meaning that property 272 is white balance fine tuning. But I have no idea how to use that.

When I set the white balancing to auto property 272 is ever changing, but when I set the white balancing to custom (I'm assuming it's also value 8 ) the property stays on the same value 945.

Is there some way to set the white balancing of the powershot N to behave the same like the custom white balancing in the previous powershot cameras? I.e. taking a photo and then using the same white balance in that photo throughout the photos taking my interval script.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Magda

AFAIK, no one has figured out how to set custom while balance settings from CHDK, even on cameras that support it in the canon firmware. Setting the propcase that contains the white balance values does not change the white balance. See http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=6765.10
Don't forget what the H stands for.

There's this, but it won't help much on a camera that doesn't have access to the Canon custom WB user interface... (Note that the custom WB data is completely undiscovered)
