Canon seems to have decided that you cannot remotely control the M3 and M10 Cameras via a USB cable using a windows PC and their EOS Utility. (see the attached file)

I recommend you to make a firmware dump first using the universal dumper
Normally, I make a parameter dump (paramdmp.lua) before I make the first recording.I would like to check how many recordings have already been made.
