standard mini usb cable for video signal ?

Hi there,
By searching on this forum i watched several controversial answers about video signal.

The aim of my task is to catch the video signal of the camera for having a deported screen and watching what my camera is doing. Like a FPV mode.

Is it possible to build a FPV cable with a stadard mini usb cable, or should I buy a 11 pin cable ?

A watched on another post that the FPV mode was locked from canon ? True ?

Thank all !

The video cable needed is specific to the camera - a normal USB cable will not work.

Older Canon P&S cameras supported live video output in shooting mode.  Apparently most newer ones do not.

From another thread, I guess you have an ixus 160? I think this camera does not support using the TV out for shooting.

If a camera supports this, the manual will say something about it, but this one only talks about using for playback.

chdkptp live view should probably work, or be fixable if it doesn't.

chdkptp (https://www.assembla.com/spaces/chdkptp/wiki) is a client for the the CHDK PTP Extension (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/PTP_Extension)

It can be used to see the camera display over a USB connection. To use it, a USB host like a PC or raspberry pi needs to be connected to the camera.

Don't forget what the H stands for.
