Attached is a test build for the 1.01B firmware version.

The firmware update boot method should work, if the build works at all.

Thank you very much Phil for this port.

I was able to load your 1.01A firmware in the camera.

When I am in play mode and I open the CHDK menu, it seems to work properly and the menu is steady. Once I go in the camera mode, the display is flickering (1st frame is with the factory menu, the 2nd one is the CHDK menu overlay on top of the previous image, then back to the first frame). It is quite hard to navigate through the menu while it is flickering. Even if I go back to the play mode the picture is flickering.
I am discovering the CHDK menu, but I am a bit lost, is there any option to stop the flickering?

Never the less I have tested a few CHDK option. It seems to react as expected. Except maybe the override iso, I have set it to 10. When I take a picture with the aperture and the speed lock it display iso 10. But when I take another picture with the same aperture, speed and iso set to 125, I get the exact same exposure of the picture. I don’t know if it is an expected behavior as the lowest iso is 125?

It is great to finally be able to test CHDK for the first time.
Let me know what I can do to help?

Thanks for testing.

The screen flickering is to be expected in record mode; especially if the Canon UI is doing things at the same time.
To minimise it, turn off anything that is doing continuous updates - the histogram is the main one to watch for.

You can also minimise it in record mode by opening the Canon menu first, then open the CHDK menu.

If you're still getting bad flickering let me know.

Thank you so much Phil for this port.
The firmware 101b work on my camera.
But, like 000gui, i have flickering in camera mode and it's difficult to navigate in the CHDK menu.
When the CHDK OSD is enabled,he flicker too!
It's like if there was a Canon+CHDK frame and then just a Canon frame and again Canon+CHDK. (maybe a CHDK refresh rate adjustment?)

Yes, when i open the canon menu first, it's okay, no flickering.
The other usable place without flickering is in play mode.

I hope this may help you.

Once again thank you, it's rely cool to play with CHDK again!

With CHDK, you can set the ISO value very low but the camera may not actually go that low. Just as you have observed.  This is normal.

Thanks for the update.

Not sure why these versions flicker like this - I don't see it on mine.
Probably missed something in the port, or there is some Canon UI setting difference.

If you use the 'no info' display mode do you still get bad flickering (SHOOT1 menu / Shooting information display / Screen info/toggle settings / Option 3).

Also, just noticed the CHDK OSD (battery, etc) is wrong when using the viewfinder. Will need to look into this, screen dimensions look to be changing.

I have tried the no info display. When I turn on chdk in camera mode, I have the first screen that explains all the buttons on chdk mode. It is steady, no flickering. But then when I enter the chdk menu, it s flickering between the first chdk screen and the chdk menu. When I navigate though the menu, it is also flickering between 2 selected lines.
I hope my explanation are clear.

Could you record a video of the entire sequence from power up to when it starts flickering please.

Are you using bootable SD card mode or "firm update" to load CHDK?
Don't forget what the H stands for.
