Are 'Motion Detect Plus' sensitivity based on only changes in  luminance (Y), or a combination of blue/green chrominance (U), yellow/red chrominance (V) or individual R, G or B values?

You can find the answer inside the script:

c=1 -- measure mode (Y,U,V R,G,B) U=0, Y=1, V=2, R=3, G=4, B=5The default is 'Y'. This option is apparently not exposed to the user, but you can change the script any time.
