G12 osd issues on swivel + flip (aka selfie mode)

So hey, im having a bit of an odd issue; When i swivel my g12 screen all the way out and flip it (aka selfie mode) the right 2/3 part of the screen go white and id like it to not do that, could someone point me towards the setting i need to change? Or is there a specific osd element that is causing this that i should disable (im running loads of stuff on screen and id hate to try disabling all of em one by one to find it).

I have disabled the flip-image-mirror thing in canon's menu. No change whether its on or off.

Just to be clear, its not a hardware issue... i think, heres why im thinking this; when i pull my chdk card and run stock the screen functions flawlessly. Also when i boot chdk with the screen flipped/swivelled out it initially gives a nice full image but after a good second when the chdk osd stuff pops up all goes to shite.

Ive been unable to locate problems like this in my searching on this forum, my apologies if this has been answered somewhere already!

The most likely suspect is Miscellaneous stuff -> Flashlight
However, it should cover the whole screen, not just a part of it. Can you take a picture how it looks?

edit:
Does the CHDK OSD (and the menu) look OK on the flipped screen with deactivated flashlight?

Off the cuff idea - any chance the display buffers are used differently somehow in "selfie mode"?   I guess that should have been reported  before if so.

Edit :
per srsa_4c's post edit,  if you do a clean install (on aother SD card) with a default CHDK configuration (or use the menu option to reset to default) do you see the issue?

As waterwingz said, turn off the flashlight in CHDK.

The reason it is only covering 2/3rd of the screen is you have the 'Reverse Display' option enabled in the Canon menu. This flips the live image when the screen is facing forward (like looking in a mirror) - CHDK does not work in this mode on the G12, the CHDK menus will be flipped left to right and partially off screen.
