Good evening, after asking whether I could turn off the lens test so that I may remove it completely and replace it with something else, it turned out to be a real time consumer so I did not pursue this.
So I decided to modify the hardware so It could still perform as a standard camera and allow a secure fixing of a reversed short focal length lens (screw on) so it became a "Stacked" lens making use of the cameras own zoom capability.
I hope you enjoy reading it and as it costs very little to make, so you may consider trying it yourself. Coupled with the CHDK enhancements it is a really surprisingly good tool that rivals similar set ups with full DSLR.
