Brand New to CHDK: ELPH 100HS not saving photos

Ok.  So I'm brand new to CHDK and I just purchased my first CHDK compatible camera this afternoon.  I've successfully created a bootable board and I'm running the E38-APM script (http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/common-apm-to-chdk-camera-link-tutorial/#creating_and_installing_the_chdk_script

Everything seems to be working great in that I'm able to remotely trigger the camera, however, when I go to retrieve the files, I get an error that there are no images.  I don't see any in when I access it through my computer either.  It's almost as if the camera is not ignoring the "lock."

Camera Model:  ELPH 100 HS
Firmware:  ixus115_elph100hs-101c-1.4.1-4510-full

That's really not a very good script.  In fact, it's quite possible that it's not taking any pictures at all.  Try changing the 50 in this part of the code to 500 - the script might simply need to hold the shutter button down longer.
Code: [Select]
  press "shoot_full"
  sleep 50                                        <-- change this to 500
  release "shoot_full"
or just replace all three lines with this line
Code: [Select]
shootThere are other issues with the script (dead code) but nothing else that would cause your problem.

Alternatively,  you might want to look at something a little more sophisticated like the KAP_UAV Exposure Control Script mentioned on the page you linked.

You would get an error message when the camera starts if that is the case.

Thanks!  I tried changing the value to 500 as well as replacing the three lines, to no avail.  Still no photos.  I'll check out the other script you mentioned.  Thanks!

Hmmm .. if that didn't work then there is something else wrong.

Let's try something simple.  There are a few really short test scripts included in the A/CHDK/SCRIPTS folder on your SD card.  Try the one called  shoot.lua .   Load it and run by pressing the shutter button.  Does it create a new image?

In case I'm missing something obvious here - what error do you get?   Exactly what are you doing to retrieve the images?  Are you just switching to Play mode to review?   If so,  can you create an image without CHDK loaded (just normal picture taking mode)?  Can you see it?

I'll try this test as soon as I get home this afternoon.

I've tried removing the card and reading it in my computer as well as viewing through the play mode.  Without CHDK running, the camera does take photos and they are viewable through both methods.  I actually don't get an error.  I just don't get any photos.
