Which camera model do you have ?  (See the previous comments.)

SD970IS  or IXUS970 ?  They are both Powershots.

Also, how did you determine your firmware version?  ( http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ#Q._How_can_I_get_the_original_firmware_version_number_of_my_camera.3F )

My camera is sd970is also ixus 830is in japan
