Hi guys,
I tried to install CHDK for my canon a4000 to shoot a timelapse but no one of the intervalometer scripts work.
I copied the script file in chdk/scripts but when I tried to install it from the chdk menu (load script from file..) didn't happen anything. What can I do?
Moreover CHDK reports the error "missing modules". What does it mean?

Thank you

It means you have not installed CHDK correctly.  Which also explains why you cannot load script files.

What procedure did you follow to install CHDK ?  Complete instructions are found here : Prepare your SD card  The use of the STICK utility mentioned at the top of that page is highly recommended.

Did you download and install the latest version of STICK from the link I provided?   I just checked and it offers only the 1.3 and 1.4 versions of CHDK (which should probably be updated to 1.4. and 1.5 at some point).

If you check the CHDK download page,  the A4000 is definitely supported with release 1.4.

Ok.. When I choose in STICK the 1.3 or also the 1.4 version  and I've add the photo, it reports "No official build is available for this camera". What can I do ?

Does it display the camera's firmware version and camera name?

Anyway, the reason of stick's failure can likely be found in its log file (sticklog.txt in the directory where you extracted stick.jar and other files).

If you know the correct firmware version, you can download the appropriate zip file from here: http://mighty-hoernsche.de/ and follow this guide: http://www.zenoshrdlu.com/stick/stickx.html

STICK is not strictly necessary. The installation is also manually possible.

Have you information about the firmware version of your camera? If yes, you can download the right version from here (choose the full version): http://mighty-hoernsche.de/

Unzip the downloaded file* and copy all dirs and files onto the sd card. Put the unlocked card into the camera and start the camera with the play button [>] (Not with ON!). Press MENU and navigate to the last entry (Firm Update). Choose this option and confirm. Now CHDK should start.

Make the SD card bootable: Go into the CHDK ALT mode (short press the play button [>]). Press MENU

Miscellaneous Stuff => SD Card => Make card bootable...

Lock the sd card. Start the camera again. Now CHDK should start automatically.

The tables that STICK uses all have entries for the a4000 firmware 102a (stable and trunk for both English and German) so it should be able to create a card for you. However the message you see - "No official build is available for this camera" should only appear when STICK has identified the camera/firmware from the photo you used and not found it in its tables. If the photo doesn't contain firmware information you would have seen a different message.

So my question is - did STICK correctly identify the camera and firmware as a4000 102a, or do you have a different firmware version?
