Good day
I've followed the directions for using stick on a vista64 system and canon a560 camera and chdk does appear in the splash screen for a few moments then is replaced by a no images message and I cannot figure out how to get the chdk menu on the screen.
Your helpful assistance would be real nice
Thank you

To access CHDK, you need to enter "alt" mode, by pressing the key defined as the alt button. On your camera, this should be the direct print button. Once you are in alt mode, the menu key should open the CHDK menu.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Right-On thanks that did it (have to hit that alt button several times to get it engaged) and thanks for the user guide link
Another question if I may.
now that chdk is enabled, is the canon menu no longer functional?
Specifically I want to set the exposure compensation to -2 but can't find that setting anywhere in chdk , only the original menu.

This should not be the case. You should see <alt> at the bottom of the screen when you click the button. Sometimes when the Canon UI updates, CHDK UI gets erased.

If this isn't the problem, it's possible that the print button on your camera is failing. This could go unnoticed since this isn't a commonly used feature and the button doesn't do anything in the Canon firmware most of the time.

CHDK alt mode is used to access the CHDK settings and start scripts. To interact with the Canon menu, just press the alt key again to leave alt mode. CHDK is still running: It loads at boot and stays running until you turn off the camera. Any overrides you set in the CHDK menu are still active when you leave alt mode.

Exit from <ALT> mode by pressing the same key to get back into normal Canon mode.  You have to do this anyway to shoot.  You can adjust your eV value from the normal Canon menu.
