Hello,
I heard about you guys a few years back when a friend of mine bought a S100. I decided to visit and search this forum to read opinions and compatibility of different camera. I found the site incredibly difficult to access. Most people would not have had the determination I had, but when something annoys me, I push harder, a lot harder.
The problems I see I've listed below. With these annoyances and hindrances, why does the community tolerate this? Is it because they are free and ad supported? I think there are better approaches. I rent a LAMP server on Digital Ocean and it's cheaper than a static IP in my house (okay, it's $10 a month and a static IP is included). Is there a lack of donors to support an ads free/hassle free version of the site? Just saying.
I can't log in via Facebook. Says my email address isn't valid. As I have received mail from this address in order to create my Facebook account, I can assure it's format adheres to all RFCs that define a valid email address.
The captcha for the search is broken. I fidgeted with this for several minutes, reported problems a number of times. I finally gave up on the search too and decided to hit straight to the forum. Asking is easier than searching in this case.
I though this was so bad, I decided to go after the hosting people. Create-a-Forum. They seem to exist as a Facebook page that is pretty heavily armored down. My guess is that they've crossed a few people to heavily manage their social media presence.
Is all this worth it to you guys? Look at other forums out there. This one has the ambiance of a flea market and for what's provided here, I see so much potential here. And I had to do that Captcha again just to post this. I must still look like a bot...
