Hi,
I have got hold of an Ixus i Zoom (SD30) with an unsupported firmware version (1.00H). The CHDK for 1.00G does not boot (PS.FIR method, camera powers straight off, no damage done to camera). I have dumped primary.bin with the Canon Basic Dumper: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzEPlVLHY5eFbDdEQXh6eEZKVDQ.

Could a dev please port CHDK to this firmware, or assist me in performing the port.

Making a port is probably easier than explaining all the necessary details. Are you willing to test and report back if I make a test release available? Note that this is an old and rare model, no-one else is expected to participate.

Yeah, I am willing to test and report on any test release you can sort out for me. Thanks :) .

Am I correct in assuming that the only difference (from 1.00G) is likely to be the addresses of the functions CHDK patches?

If this is ported, is it likely that it would end up in the source tree and on the autobuild, or would I have to build from source for every release?

Either patches or otherwise uses, yes.

First try. I think I did everything right, but I could be wrong.
If it works, can you check whether movie bitrate and quality overrides are working? (I usually set them to the lowest quality because that shows up well on the recorded footage.)

Note that (according to the port's notes) subject distance override is not working on this port.

It boots (both PS.FIR and DISKBOOT.BIN), and hasn't bricked the camera  :D .

Video bitrate override seems to work, at 0.25x the video is very blocky. Video quality override definitely works, set to 1, the video is like a mosaic. Optical zoom enable in video works.

Tv override works, tested at 32" and 1/100k. ISO override works, tested 10000 and 1. ND filter override works. Manual flash/power control override works. Dark frame subtraction override works. Badpixel.bin creation works (found ~2500 bad pixels). DNG raw works (ver 1.1, full crop, using RawTherapee). Zebra works, and the alignment matches up. Histogram and Edge Overlay both appear to work (but I never use them, so I'm not too sure).

Games, benchmark, cpuinfo, file browser, text viewer, make card bootable all work. OSD drawing works, and the battery percent and temperatures seem sane. Module inspector works, but since this camera has no Disp button, I cannot unload all modules. Scripts work, ran a couple of the test scripts including SETMODE.LUA and MD_Tune.bas.

Subj. Dist override does not work, I agree with the notes. I can't test any USB features (remote/PTP) as I have no cradle.

Thanks for the detailed report. I have added this to CHDK trunk, should appear in the trunk autobuild soon.

I was intending to add the port to the 1.4 branch too, but after doing svn merge, svn diff does not show the new 100h subdir and its content. While this might be correct behaviour (I don't know), I decided not to go ahead.
