Changing SlowMotion Frame rate on 300HS - is it possible?

I have the Canon 300HS that has a SuperSlow motion video setting as a feature.
I wanted to know if there was a way using CHDK to increase the FPS in the Slow Motion setting...or, is that actually a limit in the hardware, and can't be adjusted?
I did find some fairly OLD posts that suggest this is not something that can be changed, but I wanted to know if this is still the case...or if someone has found a way to do this.

Alternatively, is it possible to increase the Video Resolution when using the Super Slow Motion mode on this camera?  (currently, 320x240@240fps, or 640x480@120fps).

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I guess your camera is an Ixus220/Elph 300hs? (not an ixus300?) It's a good idea to spell it out, because Canon uses many different, easily confused designations.

In this case though, it doesn't matter, because CHDK currently does not have the ability to control these things on any camera. Determining whether it is possible would require someone to do a lot of reverse engineering work.

In general, I would expect if the hardware were capable of doing significantly better Canon would offer it as a standard feature. E.g. if they could do 240 FPS as 640x480 rather than 320x240 without any hardware changes, it would be a significant selling point. I doubt this was a software limit meant to protect higher-end models, because AFAIK no P&S released around that time had much better capability. Plus it would mean they significantly overspeced the hardware.

What about framerate in EOS cameras based on single Digic 6. They (excepting 80D) can record only 30p FullHD video. Is it limited by image sensor or this is just marketig?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it...

Finding out could take hundreds of hours of reverse engineering. Or you could spend those hours, and not figure it out... or find that it's possible in theory but so much code needs to be replaced that it's not doable in practice... or maybe after 5 minutes you'll find you only have to poke one variable ;)

I would not assume that all cameras with a particular Digic marketing label have identical hardware capabilities. They probably have same basic cores, but not necessarily in identical configurations and clock speeds, thermal envelope, peripheral hardware could all be different.

If you are interested in working on this, the Magic Lantern folks seem to have done a lot of low level investigation which might be helpful.
