Hello,

I really like the work you did on CHDK, and I'd love to try it out. However, I'm struggling with my A610. When being in the record mode the menu works perfectly, but in the play mode pressing the menu button does not bring up the menu. Also the other buttons don't work. Thus I am unable to load the alternate firmware.

I also tried booting from the sd-card using the guide for preparing the card with chdk, setting the readonly to true. But the camera did not boot.

Does anyone have experience with such a situation, and how to circumvent this problem?

This sounds like a very strange problem with your camera hardware. What happens if you start the camera with the "Take Photo / Review Image" switch in the "Review Image" positon?

Setting up an SD card to autoboot can be tricky - many people have had problems with it. Typically, if the camera will not boot, then you are trying to use the wrong version of CHDK for the firmware in your camera.

I'd suggest you use the STICK utility to setup your card and try again? Using STICK should ensure that your card is properly configured with the correct software.

Hi waterwingz,
using the STICK utility helped a lot. The camera used the extension when starting up (without using the menu entry in the broken replay menu) and I could make the corresponding modification.
