I like the Canon PowerShot SX710 HS. It seems to be about the hip holster size I'm looking for. A camera I don't mind taking with me on family day trips to the zoo etc. in addition to my phone.

But the SX710 seems to not have a CHDK version for it. What is a similar camera which can use CHDK which you would recommend?

Sorry - trying to find recent Canon camera's supported by CHDK has always been a challenge.  CHDK development is an all volunteer process and usually requires a skilled developer who has access to the camera and the desire to do a port of that camera.  And that creates a lag in CHDK releases relative to what is actually available in your local camera store.
